In this literary world at present, some prominent writers, who devoted their life, and energy forever changing world and they reflected this in their work in a very critical way of their own. They create new research oriented literatures. Dr. Hari Krishna Nayak is one of among them. He has established himself as a renowned writer, poet, orator and critique in Odiya literary circle. This effort in this field is note-worthy.
Dr. Nayak, who born in Ganjam district as Danambatha under Sanakhemundi Block on 12th August 1957. He is the son of Late Raghunath Nayak and Savitri Devi. He belongs to “Aliya Khandayata Caste”- an warrior caste of Odisha.
After his schooling, he successfully done his higher studies and passed post graduation (M.A.) in Odiya under Berhampur Uniersity in 1982. To his credit, he has awarded Doctor of Philosophy (Ph. D.) in Odiya literature from Berhampur University in 1990 on the topic, ‘SARALA MAHABHARATARE SAMAJIKA ADARSHA’, which was adjudged as best Ph. D. works of Sarala Literature. From 1983 he started his career as lecturer in Odiya at Science College, konkorada and still continuing service there as Sr. Lecturer in the dept. of Odiya. Besides, teaching he has contributed to the field of Odiya literature. There are several research articles which won him laurels at various levels in Odisha. He has given guidance to four scholars’ in the research activity.
Dr. Nayak, a multifarious personality in literature and social service. He is a person, who tried a lot to light the lost poets of our locality, ‘Kabi Narasingha Matha’ through his untired effort.
He also established himself as an eminent speaker of Odiya language and culture. The ‘Khemundi Gaurav’ award was endowed him by the Pancha Taluka Banayata Odiya Samaja, Konkorada. The Saraswata Sambhardhana Utsa Upendra Bhanja foundation, Berhampur, Odisha has awarded him as an ‘eminent writer and critique’ in 30th December 2006. The “Sambhaana Saraswata parisada” Odisha has also awarded him “Ravirashmi Prabandha Pratibha Sanman” in its state level 9th annual function (Dated 11th October, 2009.). He is also a good organizer and social worker. He has positioned as President of ‘Nikhila Utkala Aliya Khandayata Samaja, Khalingi Mandala’ in Ganjam district from 1991 to 1997. He has worked as organizing secretary of N.U.A.K. Samaja in central committee from 2004 to 2009 and earned the position of Vice-president of N.U.A.K. samaja in central committee in 2009 and still working. He was a good program officer of N.S.S., Berhampur University during 1992 to 2002. He is also the founding president of ‘Phakir Mohan Pathagara (Library)’, advisor of ‘Sri Chaitanya Yuvak Club (Youth Club)’ and ‘Indira Mahila Samiti (Ladies Association)’ of Danambatha. He is also advisor to many cultural and social organizations of Ganjam district. He is a regular contributer of ALL INDIA RADIO, Berhampur. Many of his talks are spread on various occasions through AIR, Berhampur.
The many facetated personality Dr. Nayak is an example for others. May god bless him for his good and prosperous life … He may be bestowed with all kinds of virtues, so that his journey for social, literary work must go on speedily for well being one and all.
